HD MicroSystems™ is a manufacturer of polyimide (liquid polyimide precursor) and other highly heat-resistant coating materials originally developed by DuPont.
Established in 1997 as a fifty-fifty joint venture between DuPont and Hitachi Chemical (now Resonac), we have been contributing to enhancing the functionality and reliability of semiconductors as a leading polyimide supplier.
Along with manufacturing bases in Japan and the U.S., we have established a global support system that allows us to offer precise solutions to customers around the world. By combining the resin design technology of Resonac and the semiconductor lithography technology of DuPont, we are also aggressively pursuing R&D to develop next-generation materials.
In addition to their insulation property, our polyimide products are characterized by heat resistance and chemical resistance, and we are proudly promoting their appeal and potential around the world.

Providing an Array of Polyimide Products
As a specialized manufacturer that inherited the technologies, experience, and products built up by polyimide pioneer DuPont over more than 50 years, we have an extensive lineup of products compatible with the manufacture of highly integrated, miniaturized, and multifunctional semiconductors and electronic parts.
By establishing manufacturing bases both in the U.S. and Japan, we have ensured the stable supply of polyimide, thereby contributing to the miniaturization and greater reliability of electronics. We thus play a role in the technological innovation of electronic devices.
Global Support
Offering Meticulous Support via a Global System
We have bases for product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance both in Japan and the U.S., as well as an analysis/testing laboratory equipped with a clean room in Taiwan. We also operate technical support bases in Japan, the U.S., and Taiwan for marketing activities.
Furthermore, we have business offices with local staff in Europe (Germany) and South Korea and offer meticulous support to customers in other regions by utilizing the network of our parent companies, Resonac and DuPont.
